For many folks, the holidays are filled with a bit of travel. Along with the travel toothbrush and wrinkle-resistant clothing you may want to also pack some food that can do double, triple or even more duty.
Vinegar can be used as a deodorant and as a facial toner. Use it to brush your teeth, as it both whitens as well as freshens breath. Vinegar can be used to clean many spaces; countertops, glass and more. It is a very handy travel take along.
Baking soda can be used as a toothpaste. For a fabulous facial cleanser mix 1/2 Tbs baking soda with 1 Tbs honey; this cleanser is both anti-bacterial and exfoliating. Heartburn? Nix it with 1/2 tsp baking soda mixed in 1/2 glass of water.
Due to honey’s anti-bacterial qualities is can also be used on those holiday stress induced breakouts.
Ginger tea is ideal for nausea, colds and sore throats, make sure to tuck a few tea bags in your suitcase.
Vitamin B12, though not a food, is worth a mention. When your energy begins to wane, rather than reach for that mocha, reach for a dropper full of B12 instead.
Trail Mix is a must have for travel. It’s a great mix of proteins, fats and carbs. Just 1/4 cup can sustain you, keep you from over indulging and stave off hunger pangs when travel plans become way laid by mother nature or overbooked flights.
Happy Travels to you this Holiday Season!
