Check out my previous two blogs to learn even more Home Health Tips! Today I wanted to touch on just one more subject and that is “tea.” I love tea! There are so many wonderful health benefits to be derived from drinking a few cups of tea each day. It does not matter if your cup o’ tea is green, black, white, or herbal, all teas are worth more than a few sips.
In my book, “How to Beat a Tough Economy: A Mom’s Survival Guide to Living on a Tight Budget,” I have a few pages dedicated to what to with that tea bag once you are done steeping. Don’t throw that tea bag away! There are some rather interesting ways to extend its life of usefulness.
For example, did you know that the tannins in tea leaves are great for stopping the bleeding caused by paper cuts and razor nicks. Just hold it on for 30 seconds or so. Those same tannins are useful to de-puff puffy eyes; they will seep into your pores to draw out the fluid buildup. Leave wet tea bags on eyes for about 20 minutes, you will look quite refreshed afterwards!
Grimy glass? Be it windows or mirrors, grime buildup can be a pain to clean. Use the wet tea bag to wipe down the glass, then buff it dry with a lint-free cloth. Your reflection will then truly be the fairest of them all!
Have a cup of tea! And don’t throw away that tea bag without consulting with my book first!
