Digestive Enzymes

In past blogs I have discussed the importance of a good strong digestive system; the healthier your digestion, the healthier are you. I have also talked extensively about the importance of populating your gut with good-for-you bacteria via probiotics.  Fruits and vegetables, and all their wonderful enzymes, also play an important role in achieving awesome digestion.

But here’s the real deal: our fruits and veggies are not what they used to be. Toxins, chemicals and the like have found their way into our produce and in turn our soil; all of this adds to the depletion of nutrients and enzymes in the food we eat.

    Also, as we age we naturally start to produce fewer digestive enzymes. A lack of these enzymes can lead to health issues and you may suffer from bloating, flatulence, constipation and heartburn as well as a host of other digestive issues.
